The October ABA meeting will be held on Thursday, October 14th, at The Village Inn. The program for this evening will the Oxford Casino initiative on which we will be voting in November. The initiative (Question 1) reads as follows:

Do you want to allow a casino with table games and slot machines at a single site in Oxford County, subject to local approval, with part of the profits going to specific state, local, and tribal programs?

Speaking in favor of the Oxford casino will be Suzanne Grover of “Black Bear Entertainment”. Speaking against the casino will be Dan Cashman of “Citizens against the Oxford Casino”.

Should this referendum pass, the casino will be located only a short distance from Auburn. This could have significant effects on the city, its businesses, and its citizens. We hope you will join us for this educational program as well as an evening of socializing and networking.
